The Royal Signals Museum is located in the grounds of Blandford Camp to where it was relocated in 1967 after being established in Catterick in the 1930s. It aims to preserve and display the heritage of the Royal Signals regiment, telling the story of military communications from the Napoleonic Wars and onwards. Hands-on, interactive, family-friendly displays chart the Royal Signals' story from semaphore through to high tech electronic warfare

The displays and exhibitions including permanent and specialist ones provide educational resources to local schools, and also provide research, educational and recruiting support facilities. Popular with school children, it gives an interactive experience, being located in the heart of a military base, with exhibitions about both World Wars, D-Day and Code Breaking.

In 1989, £1 million was raised to construct a new wing and refurbish the displays, which was completed in 1997.
