Set along side Poole Harbour is Poole Park. This urban park is a popular spot with locals and visitors all year round and covers an area of more than 100 acres.

Poole Park was opened in 1890 by Edward Prince of Wales and features panoramic open aspect views to the south, across Poole Harbour, and to Purbeck Hills beyond. In 1995 it was given Conservation Area status and much renovation have taken place since while managing to retain its original Victorian style.

Much of the park, 60 acres, comprises of freshwater and lakes where numerous watersports activities take place. However it's also known for its aquatic birds and miniature railway. There is also a children's ice rink, waterside restaurant, cricket pitches, crazy golf course, putting green, tennis courts, playgrounds and Poole Park also regularly hosts a number of outdoor events.
